Bhaktapur municipality introduces local curriculum

Bhaktapur –Bhaktapur municipality has launched local curriculum for class 1 and 6 in schools within the municipality area from this academic session. 

Probably the Bhaktapur municipality is the first local-level introducing its own curriculum. The municipality introduced the local curriculum with an objective of imparting knowledge about history, geography, art and culture, local health treatment method and sports of Bhaktapur from school level. 

Mayor Sunil Prajapati said that the curriculum, prepared by Local Curriculum Preparation Task Force, was introduced from this academic session. 

Similarly, Task Force Coordinator Yogendraman Bijukchhe, said that the local curriculum would help transfer the local knowledge and skill to the new generation. 

The curriculum was prepared by incorporating 11 subjects including naming of Khwopa, its history, local culture and local heritages and arts.
