Seven pilgrims injured in bus accident
Phalebash, Parbat – Seven pilgrims were injured when a bus met with an accident this morning at Chuwa area of Kushma municipality – 8 in Parbat.
The bus (Ba 4 Kha 5788) carrying pilgrims from Kathmandu and bound for Muktinath located in the trans-Himalayan district of Mustang met with the accident at 4:30 am.
The injured passengers have been identified as Lilanath Pudasaini, 65 and Maya Pudasaini, 60, of Changunarayan municipality – 10; Urmila Upreti, 38, Ananta Upreti, 43, and Binda Lohani, 36, of Kathmandu – 16; Sudarshan Karki, 24, of Panauti municipality – 6 and Sneha Gurung, 15, of Chusang rural municipality – 4 of Mustang.
They are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Parbat with many suffering injuries in the neck, hands and legs, said District Police Office, Parbat.
District Traffic Police Office Parbat's traffic constable, Sudeep Sapkota, said the accident could have occurred after the driver fell asleep. There were 26 travellers onboard the bus at the time of the accident.
The driver is currently under police detention for investigation, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dillip Ghimire of District Police Office, Parbat.
