Australian Ambassador calls on Industry Minister Yadav

 

Kathmandu–: Australian Ambassador to Nepal, Peter Budd today called on Minister for Industries Matrika Yadav. During the meeting took place at the Singha Durbar, the two discussed the issues relating to mutual interests. 
On the occasion, Minister Yadav thanked the government of Australia for its support provided to Nepal. 
Stating that now Nepal adopts the policy of encouraging investors as it wishes to make path towards prosperity easier, he said the government welcomes those willing to invest in Nepal with an open heart. 


"To interfere with ballooning country's trade deficit and increase employment opportunities are the current needs of the country," as briefed by the Industry Minister to the Ambassador. 


According to him, the government expects support from its neighbours to deal with these issues. He said the government of Australia could help Nepal open a technical education school here. 


The Ambassador apprised the Minister that the Micro- Enterprise Development Programme (MEDEP) implemented by the UNDP in Nepal with the support of the government of Australia is coming to an end from coming July. 


He took the moment to report the Australia Government's interest about directly cooperating with Nepal in such efforts to the Minister. The ambassador pledged to promote bilateral assistance so as to further consolidate the bilateral ties existing between Nepal and Australia. 


Industry Secretary Ms Yam Kumari Khatiwada was also present in the meeting.
