Government committed to update bills: Home Minister Sharma
Kathmandu - Home Minister Janardan Sharma has said after the formulation of necessary policy, the security force was doing exercise to access to the place of landslide and floods within 30 minutes of the disaster.
During a meeting of the State Affairs Committee under the Legislature-Parliament Wednesday, Home Minister Sharma said, "Government has made arrangements to mobilize the security mechanism to ensure rescue and relief within half hour of the natural disaster as floods and landslide."
Similarly, he said efforts were underway to launch alertness programme under the leadership of people's representatives to prevent violence against women. "The Ministry has given directive to the subordinates to mobilize a high level probe team including the technical human resources from the central level to investigative the recent death of three girl child in Bhojpur district.
Minister Sharma was putting forth his views during the discussion on the bill relating to control of torture, cruel, inhumane and degrading behaviour-2073. He further said as the incidents of torture are against decent society, the bill would encompass the behaviour of all citizen irrespective of the positions.
"The bill is being brought to make the State more accountable. Government is committed to make timely updates on it," he underscored.
