Love Turned Tragic: TikTok Star's Suicide Note Leads to Girlfriend's Investigation

Kathmandu: Rinesh Ghimire, a 24-year-old TikTok personality from Godawari Municipality-10, Lalitpur, was found dead on Asar 31 (July 15). With over 66,000 followers, Ghimire had recently fallen in love with Ravina Khadka (alias Supriya), a woman from Sailung Rural Municipality-6, Dolakha, whom he met on TikTok six months ago.

Suicide Note Blames Girlfriend

Before taking his own life, Ghimire wrote a suicide note on Facebook, addressing Ravina:
"You forced me to hang the noose around my neck, abandoning my parents in their old age. Wishing you a bright future and lots of love. Goodbye!"

Police Investigation Underway

Ravina is currently in custody at Chapagaun Police Circle, accused of abetting suicide (a crime under Nepali law). Ghimire’s family filed a complaint on Sawan 5, alleging Ravina’s role in his death. Police have obtained a 5-day remand from Lalitpur District Court to further interrogate her.

Contradictory Claims

Ravina claims she had no prior connection with Ghimire’s family and that he frequently visited her rented room in Sohrakhutte. She also alleges she gave him money, though investigators say no evidence supports this yet. Ghimire’s phone has been sent for digital forensic analysis.

Legal Consequences

If proven guilty, Ravina could face up to 5 years in prison under Nepal’s Suicide Abetment Law.
