Clash erupts over 'Kotihom' in Pokhara, several injured

Pokhara, March 7 — A clash occurred between two groups during the Bhoomi Pujan (Hindu ritual performed to honour Goddess Earth) ceremony for the Kotihoma Mahayagya project by the Human Service Foundation at Lakeside in Pokhara.

The dispute arose after the Pokhara Metropolitan City denied permission for the event, leading to a confrontation early Friday morning.

The Pokhara Metropolitan authorities had deployed police outside the Kotihom area to stop the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony, which had begun without approval.

During the altercation, several individuals from both sides sustained injuries.

The foundation plans to hold the Kotihom event at Barahighat, while Pokhara Metropolitan City has firmly stated that the event cannot take place at Lakeside under any circumstances.

Despite this, the foundation's founder, Bijay Bhandari, remains determined to proceed with the ceremony in Pokhara at any cost.
