Water Resources Bill to be presented in Parliament within two weeks

Kathmandu, March 6 — The Chairman of the Infrastructure Development Committee under the House of Representatives, Deepak Bahadur Singh, has announced that the Water Resources Bill, 2024 will be presented in Parliament within the next two weeks.

Speaking at a workshop titled "Integrated River Basin Planning and Management for Effective Governance in Nepal" held in Kathmandu on Thursday, Chairman Singh stated that while there is broad agreement on the bill, some aspects still need to be finalized.

He assured that the bill would be introduced in the House within the next two weeks.

Singh also committed to bringing the Energy Bill in a way that ensures the rights and interests of Nepali shareholders.

Singh emphasized the importance of forest conservation, pointing out that while forests are being depleted, water sources are also drying up, and everyone must take responsibility for preserving forests.
