Nepal Teachers' Federation to launch phase two of protest

Kathmandu, March 5 — The Nepal Teachers' Federation (NTF) has announced the second phase of its protest, set to begin on Falgun 24 (March 8).

The federation, which has already conducted various programs until Falgun 20 (March 4), plans to bring teachers from across the country to Kathmandu.

A total of 36,100 teachers from all 77 districts will gather at Maitighar Mandala.

NTF President Lakshmi Kishor Subedi confirmed that the teachers will participate in the protest according to the numbers set by the national committee.

The teachers will be divided into groups by districts, with specific targets for participation.

The federation has also directed members to contribute a fee of 100 rupees, half of which will go to the national committee. 

The federation has been protesting since Magh 20 (February 2) to pressure the government into addressing their demands, including passing a progressive education act.
