Nepal Samajwadi Party (Naya Shakti) set to elect new leadership

Kathmandu, February 10 — The Nepal Samajwadi Party (Naya Shakti) is set to begin its election process today to elect new leadership.

The party’s first general convention, which began on Sunday at Nepal Academy in Kamaladi, saw outgoing Chair Dr. Baburam Bhattarai present a political and organizational report titled "New Era, New Responsibilities: The Justification and Foundation of Alternative Politics."

During the second day’s closed-door session, group discussions were taking place regarding the report presented by Bhattarai, according to Roshan Pokharel, the head of the central office.

He mentioned that discussions were being held in 12 groups, and after responding to the questions from these groups at 3 PM, the report would be passed.

Following that, the election committee will begin the election process, Pokharel added.

He also stated that 11 office-bearers, 99 central committee members, and central body officials will be elected through the election process.

The new leadership will be chosen, and the general convention will conclude on Tuesday.
