Severe cold disrupt daily life in Madhesh
Dhanusha, January 24 — The severe cold and cold waves that have increased over the past three days have disrupted daily life in the Madhesh province.
While the sun had risen since Monday afternoon, the sudden cold winds and last night's snowfall have caused extreme cold to be felt in Madhesh since Tuesday.
For the past three days, the sun has not been visible. In addition, there has been ongoing cold waves. The extreme cold and lack of sunshine have caused rural life to come to a standstill.
Daily wage laborers and workers have been severely affected. Life in Madhesh is almost paralyzed until around 10 AM each day. The poor and impoverished have been facing significant hardships due to the cold.
Local residents are using fire to keep warm, and in rural areas, they are burning straw to fight the cold.
In Janakpurdham, the minimum temperature recorded on Friday was 11°C, and the maximum was 21°C. The ongoing cold wave and chilly winds are expected to persist for a few more days.
