Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup: Australia beat Nepal by 83 runs
Kathmandu, January 22 — In the 20th match of the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup 2025, Australia Women Under-19 defeated Nepal Women Under-19 by a commanding 83 runs.
The match took place at the YSD-UKM Cricket Oval stadium in Bangi, Malaysia with Australia setting a challenging target of 140 runs, posting 139 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs.
Australia’s Caoimhe Bray scored a match-winning 45 runs off 34 balls.
Nepal was estricted to a total of just 56 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Nepal's batting collapse saw Puja Mahato top-scoring with 18 runs off 42 balls, while Sana Praveen contributed 8 runs. The other batters struggled, with wickets falling at regular intervals.
Australia’s bowlers dominated the innings. Hasrat Gill took 2 wickets for 9 runs. Caoimhe Bray conceded just 8 runs from 3 overs.
Lily Bassingthwaighte was particularly impressive, taking two wickets for just 4 runs in her 3 overs.
