High-ranking officials attend Maghi festival celebration at Shital Niwas (photos)

Kathmandu, January 14 — On the occasion of the Maghi festival, President Ramchandra Poudel hosted a greetings exchange program at Shital Niwas.

The greetings exchange program, held on Tuesday, saw the participation of high-ranking officials, including the Vice President, Prime Minister, Speaker of the House, Deputy Speaker, and various ministers.

Today, at Shital Niwas, a special feast of ghee, chaku, and tarul (traditional foods) was organized in celebration of Maghe Sankranti.

The Tharu community celebrates Maghi, while other communities observe Maghe Sankranti on the first day of Magh.

On this occasion, the Tharu and Magar communities have organized different events at Tundikhel in Kathmandu.
