Westerlies and low-pressure system partially affect weather in Nepal

Kathmandu, January 6 — The western winds and the partial influence of the western low-pressure system are currently affecting the country.

According to the Department of Meteorology, there is partial cloud cover in the Sudur Paschim Province, while the remaining provinces have partial to generally cloudy weather. Fog has formed in some areas of the Terai region.

On Monday, the weather in the hilly areas of the country will be partially to generally cloudy, with the remaining areas experiencing mainly clear skies, although some isolated areas in the hilly regions of Sudur Paschim Province may experience light rainfall.

In Karnali and Sudur Paschim Provinces, some parts of the high hills and mountainous areas, as well as a few places in other high hilly and mountainous regions, may experience light snowfall.

People are advised to take necessary precautions as this weather could affect daily life, health, transportation, and air travel.

On Tuesday, the weather will generally be partially to mostly cloudy across the country.

A few areas in the hilly regions of Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi Provinces, as well as one or two places in the remaining areas, may experience scattered light rainfall.

There is also a possibility of light snowfall in some areas of the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, as well as a few places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Sudur Paschim and Karnali Provinces.
