Kathmandu, January 2 — The second South Asia International Book Fair is currently taking place at Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmandu.

The event, titled "South Asia International Book Fair 2025," began on Wednesday and will run for five days.

The exhibition features a variety of books by South Asian authors.

The event is organized jointly by the Federation of Nepal Books and Stationery Business and Current Media and Research Center.

Continuing from last year's initiative, this exhibition, held from January 1 to 5, has become a focal point for individuals and institutions associated with books and education.

Organizers mentioned that the exhibition is being held with the principle of "Quality education for awareness, and quality educational materials for quality education" in mind.

The book fair has attracted publishers, producers, and distributors from Nepal, China, India, and several other South Asian and international countries.

With more than 150 stalls, the exhibition brings together over 150 publishers and producers from both domestic and international markets.

The event is expected to foster an environment for the exchange, import, and export of educational materials, and promote cooperation among producers from different countries, according to the organizers.
