RSP leaders call for Mukul Dhakal's reinstatement as General Secretary

Kathmandu, January 1 — A petition has been submitted within the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP), urging the reinstatement of Mukul Dhakal as the party's general secretary, citing the need for experienced leadership during the party's current crisis.

The petition was submitted to the central office by Rajesh Timsina, Chair of Koshi Province, and Tapeshwar Yadav, Chair of Madhes Province.

In the petition, the leaders expressed concern that the party is currently facing its greatest crisis and emphasized that RSP is not just determining its own future, but also shaping the future of alternative politics and, more importantly, the hopes of the Nepali people.

The petition highlighted the series of unfortunate events that have unfolded within the party since June, urging the need for unity and collective effort to move forward. It also noted that some course corrections are necessary, and they expressed their intent to withdraw their signatures and consent from previous decisions.

The petition further stated, "In accordance with the party's policy of 'Right to Recall,' I believe it is in line with our party's principles to retract signatures and consent."

The petition concluded with a call for all factions within the party to make sacrifices and unite, urging, "Let’s face this crisis together, not by dividing, but by coming together. Let's establish the Rashtriya Swatantra Party as a strong and trustworthy political force for the Nepali people."
