Remand hearing to begin after final statements in Surydarshan Cooperative fraud case
Pokhara, December 31 — The statement-taking process in the embezzlement case involving the Surydarshan Cooperative in Pokhara, which includes suspended president of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rabi Lamichhane, has reached its final stage.
So far, statements from six individuals have been completed, and the statement-taking process with the defendant, Aarati Gurung, is ongoing, according to the Kaski District Court.
Along with Lamichhane, former DIG Chhabilal Joshi, GB Rai’s partner Lila Pachhai, Ram Bahadur Khanal, former MP Meena Gurung, and Krishna Bahadur Gurung have already provided their statements.
Court official Rajan Khanal informed that after Aarati's statement is completed, the hearing on remand would begin today.
"The statement-taking process has reached its final stage. The remand hearing will likely begin today," he said.
This case is being heard in the court of Judge Nitij Rai. Those arrested in connection with the cooperative fraud case are also facing charges related to money laundering and organized crime.
All the defendants have been presented at the Kaski District Court.
