Kamaladi road reopens with new box culvert construction (photos)
Kathmandu, December 12 — A box culvert has been constructed on the collapsed road in Kamaladi, and the road has been reopened for use starting today.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held during a program to mark the reopening of the reconstructed road.
The road had been closed since the last week of Shrawan, after it collapsed near the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Executive Office.
The construction of the 4.48-meter-long box culvert with a single span was completed and inaugurated today, allowing the road to be reopened.
Although the road had been made one-way before it collapsed, the traffic police have stated that it will remain one-way even after reopening.
As before, vehicles traveling from Durbar Marga will only be allowed to go towards Kamalpokhari.
Additionally, the road from the Nepal Academy through Kamaladi Ganeshsthan to Ghantaghar has also been made one-way.
