Prakash Bhujel's license found, compensation discussions ongoing
Kathmandu, November 14 — A fatal accident occurred on Wednesday in Brahmakhel, Shankarapur Municipality-9, Kathmandu, when a Land Cruiser driven by Prakash Bhujel, alias Jhankri (shaman), hit a motorcycle, resulting in the death of Narayan Nagarkoti from Kageshwori Manohara-2.
After the incident, Bhujel was arrested by the police, and an investigation is underway.
Police could not find a valid driving license with him. They contacted the Department of Transport Management to obtain a copy of his driving license. SP Nabaraj Adhikari of the Kathmandu District Police Range confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and the license is being verified.
The Land Cruiser (BA 19 CHA 2695) driven by the Bhujel collided with a motorcycle (BA PR-02-018PA 6875), which was carrying Narayan Nagarkoti and his wife, Kisanumaya Nagarkoti.
Narayan’s wife was severely injured in the accident and is currently receiving treatment at Grande Hospital. Nagarkoti couple has two children.
Discussions are taking place between the victim's family and Bhujel regarding treatment costs and compensation. An officer from the Bouddha Police Circle mentioned that talks regarding compensation are ongoing.
SP Adhikari also informed that Bhujel will be investigated under vehicle manslaughter charges.
