NEPSE sees slight decline after Tihar holiday

Kathmandu, November 5 — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a slight decline on Tuesday. After the Tihar holiday, the market opened for the first time with significant volatility, falling by 0.21 points.

As a result, the market dropped to 26,677.40 points on Tuesday. The total transaction value for the day amounted to NPR 4.2 billion.

The market reached a high of 2,697 points and a low of 2,670 points on Tuesday.

On the same day, 7 sub-indices saw an increase, while 6 sub-indices declined. The highest gain was seen in the life insurance sector, which rose by 1.06%, while the banking sector saw the most significant drop, falling by 0.81%.

In market activity on Tuesday, Super Mai Hydropower's shares hit a positive circuit breaker. Shares of Samaj Microfinance, United Modi Hydropower, and Gurans Microfinance Financial Institution also rose by over 9%. On the other hand, Mid-Solu Hydropower's stock dropped by 10%, triggering a negative circuit breaker.

In terms of trading volume, Nepal Finance saw the highest trading value of NPR 29.9 million. Based on transaction volume, Prabhu Select Fund topped the list, while in terms of the number of transactions, Madhya Bhotekoshi was ranked first.
