Former Queen Mother Ratna hospitalized

Kathmandu, November 4 — Former Queen Mother Ratna Rajya Lakshmi Shah has fallen ill. She was admitted to Norvic Hospital in Thapathali last night after experiencing health issues.

Her throat showed signs of mucus buildup, among other problems, which led to her hospitalization, according to Phani Pathak, spokesperson for former King Gyanendra Shah. 

At 96 years old, she has also been reported to have an infection in her chest, but her condition is said to be stable. She is expected to remain in the hospital for several days for treatment.
