Cyclone Dana effect in Nepal: Light rain with thunderstorms possible in hilly regions

Kathmandu, October 25 — There is a partial influence of western winds along with local winds across the country. Additionally, there is a partial effect from the cyclone "Dana," which has developed in the Bay of Bengal, particularly affecting the Koshi Province.

In the eastern parts of Koshi and Lumbini Provinces, there will be partial to generally cloudy weather, while the rest of the country is expected to have partial cloudiness with mostly clear conditions.

This afternoon, the weather will remain partially to generally cloudy in the Koshi and Lumbini Provinces as well as in the hilly regions of the country, with the rest of the areas experiencing partial cloudiness and mainly clear skies. There is a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms in one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi and Lumbini Provinces.

Tonight, the weather will continue to be partially cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi Province, while the rest of the country will have mostly clear skies with some partial cloudiness. There is also a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms in one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces.

Due to the possibility of light rain with thunderstorms in one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Lumbini, and Karnali Provinces, the Meteorological Department has advised necessary precautions as there could be partial impacts on agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road, and air transport.
