Dry landslide halts traffic resumption on BP Highway
Kathmandu, October 11 — The police have reported that it will take some time for vehicles to resume operations on the BP Highway due to a dry landslide in the Kavre section. Although preparations were made to reopen the road, the dry landslide has prevented it from becoming operational.
According to the police, vehicles have been unable to pass on the road section from Narke in Roshi Municipality-9 to Mangaltar in Roshi Municipality-11 under the Kavrepalanchok district of the BP Highway.
The District Police Office, Kavre, stated that the road network has been affected due to the dry landslide at Piple on the BP Highway. A Sumo vehicle with the registration number Na 1 Ja 6117, traveling from Khotang, has been buried in the landslide.
According to Superintendent of Police Basundhara Khadka from the District Police Office, there is no possibility of the BP Highway being operational in the immediate future due to the dry landslide.
"This morning, a dry landslide occurred, causing a vehicle accident. Efforts to clear the landslide have also not been successful. Currently, the BP Highway is blocked," she said, adding, "It appears that it will take some time to clear the road."
