Simkhola diversion collapse blocks Kulekhani-Phakhel and Sisneri roads again
Hetauda, October 7 — The collapse of diversion built under Kulekhani Dam in Simkhola, Ward No. 2 of Indrasarowar Rural Municipality has blocked traffic on the routes towards Kulekhani-Phakhel-Mahalakshmi and Kulekhani-Sisneri-Dakshhinkali.
These sections of the road were opened for use on Sunday afternoon.
After five days of construction, a diversion was made as an alternative route due to the flooding caused by the rivers in Kulekhani, Simkhola, Mahalakshmi, and Sisneri.
A technician at the diversion site stated that the filled earth has collapsed, but new filling is being done, and traffic should be restored within the next two hours.
The construction of the diversion was carried out with the active involvement of the Bagmati Province Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, the District Administration Office of Makwanpur, local authorities, the Nepal Army, and the police, allowing vehicular movement to resume from Sunday afternoon.
