Flood risk alert issued for several rivers

Kathmandu, October 2 — Due to the possibility of heavy rainfall in some regions of the country today, the Flood Forecasting Division has indicated a risk of flooding in several rivers and streams. Most rivers and streams in the Koshi Province are at risk of flooding.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is a medium risk of flooding in the rivers and streams of Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Panchthar, Tehrathum, Dhankuta, Ilam, Jhapa, Morang, and Sunsari.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division has also urged the necessary precautions for areas in Koshi and Bagmati Provinces, where heavy rainfall is expected today.
