Nagdhunga-Jhyaple Khola road closed from 11 am to 1 pm today
Kathmandu, October 1 — Traffic has been stopped on the Nagdhunga-Jhyaple Khola section of Dhunibeshi Municipality-9, the main route into Kathmandu, from 11 AM to 1 PM on Tuesday. Currently, only one-way traffic is allowed on this section.
SP Naresh Subedi from the Bagmati Province Traffic Police Office informed Ratopati that work is underway to clear landslides on the road. He stated, "Traffic has been stopped for two hours to clear the landslide and allow for two-way traffic afterward."
In the landslide at Jhyaple Khola, three vehicles were buried, resulting in the deaths of 35 individuals, including 25 men, 9 women, and 1 girl. Inspector Prahlad Silwal from the District Police Office in Dhading mentioned that 13 of the deceased have been identified.
In the area where the three vehicles were buried, police are currently managing one-way traffic on a priority basis. SP Subedi noted that ambulances are given the highest priority. He added, "We are prioritizing the movement of ambulances, passenger vehicles, and those carrying food supplies entering and leaving Kathmandu."
The Bagmati Province Police Office has deployed a team under SP Subedi's leadership to manage the traffic in the area.
