Death toll from monsoon-induced disasters reach 132

Kathmandu, September 29 — The death toll from floods, landslides, inundation, and natural disasters has reached 132. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, 68 fatalities have been reported in the Kathmandu Valley, 45 in Bagmati Province, 17 in Koshi Province, and 2 in Madhes Province.

Additionally, 64 people are missing, and 61 have been injured. Thanks to the active efforts of security personnel, 3,626 individuals have been safely rescued nationwide, as reported by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Since Sunday morning, the Nepal Army's helicopter has successfully rescued 193 individuals from various locations in Kavrepalanchok affected by floods, landslides, and natural hazards. A team from the Nepal Army has been conducting aerial rescues for citizens trapped in high-risk areas for two days.

The Ministry of Home Affairs spokesperson Rishiram Tiwari stated that all mechanisms have been mobilized to clear blocked highways. Security personnel are actively engaged in rescuing citizens in affected areas, providing relief, and transporting the injured to hospitals.
