Saptakoshi river reaches 557,000 cfs, highest since 1968
Biratnagar, September 28 — As the water flow in the SaptaKoshi River increases, water has begun to flow over the bridge.
According to the Sunsari police, while water started flowing over the bridge from Gate18 a while ago, it has now decreased.
The high water flow has caused water to flow over the bridge. All 56 gates of the barrage have been opened.
Traffic for vehicles and pedestrians has been completely restricted at the barrage.
Currently, the water flow in the Koshi River is measured at 557,000 cubic feet per second, which is the highest recorded since 1968.
Previously, in 1987, the flow was measured at 523,771 cubic feet per second.
The Indian side has forecast that the flood flow in the Koshi could reach 681,639 cubic feet per second.
