Domestic flights partially resume

Kathmandu, September 28 — Domestic flights that were suspended since last evening have partially resumed. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has reopened flights from Kathmandu to major cities.

Flights and landings at the airport can take place through two methods: Instrumental Flight Rules (IFR) and Visual Flight Rules (VFR). VFR allows pilots to fly and land by visual reference, while IFR requires the use of instruments.

According to Gyanendra Bhul, an information officer at the CAAN, IFR flights are open until 6 PM. After these flights, pilots will make further decisions based on weather updates.

As a result, flights to Chandragadhi, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, and Dhangadhi airports, which were grounded yesterday, have resumed. However, restrictions on flights from other airports remain in effect, while international flights continue to operate normally, Bhul confirmed.
