Thirty stranded on island in Saptakoshi River; rescue efforts underway

Biratnagar, September 28 — Thirty people are stranded on an island near Thakurabasa in the Saptakoshi River.
They became trapped there on Saturday morning.
The District Administration Office of Sunsari has informed that rescue efforts are underway for those stranded.
Meanwhile, the water flow in the Saptakoshi River is expected to reach 500,000 cubic feet per second.
According to Sunsari CDO Ramchandra Tiwari, the current water flow has reached 494,000 cubic feet per second.
