Flood from Roshi River sweeps away 10 houses in Kavre

Kathmandu, September 28 — The flood from the Roshi River has swept away approximately 10 houses in Narke, Ward No. 9 of Roshi Rural Municipality in Kavre. The flood occurred around 9 AM on Saturday, causing significant erosion, as reported by the rural municipality chairperson Dinesh Lama to Ratopati. He mentioned that there is no information yet on whether there were any casualties.

He stated, “Around 10-12 houses near the Roshi River have been swept away. Since it happened in the morning, there might not be any human casualties, but permanent structures have been lost. The Nepal Army and police are on standby for rescue operations, but access is limited due to damaged roads.”

He added that communication in the area is currently down, making it difficult to assess the situation. Although the area is considered safe, the flood has eroded the land and destroyed homes.
