Kulekhani-Fakhel-Kathmandu and Bajhang roads closed due to landslide
Kathmandu, September 27 — Continuous heavy rainfall has triggered a landslide in Chhabis Pathibhara Rural Municipality, Ward No. 1, in Bajhang.
SSP Shyamkrishna Adhikari from the Sudurpashchim Province Police Office informed that a landslide at Baluwatar has blocked the road. No casualties have been reported, and local authorities are working to clear the debris in coordination with community agencies.
Additionally, the Kulekhani-Fakhel-Kathmandu road, which connects Hetauda and Kathmandu, has also been obstructed by a landslide. The District Police Office in Makawanpur stated that vehicular traffic has come to a halt in Sukaura of Indra Sarobar Rural Municipality-2 due to this incident.
The landslide had occurred around 9:30 AM on Monday, triggered again by the heavy rainfall on Thursday. A police team has been dispatched to address the situation, and they are collaborating with local representatives to reopen the road.
In the meantime, the Kanti Lokpath has been closed since Thursday due to landslides. Police have stated challenges in clearing the landslide in Ghattepakha of Bakaiya-12 because of ongoing rainfall.
