CPN (Unified Socialist) task force meeting to discuss work division

Kathmandu, September 26 — A meeting of the task force established to distribute responsibilities along with work division among leaders of the CPN (Unified Socialist) is currently underway. Leader Rajendra Pandey informed that discussions will focus on the model of work division during the meeting held at the party's central office in Aloknagar.

The task force, led by Chairman Madhav Nepal, includes esteemed leaders Jhalnath Khanal, Beduram Bhusal, Pramesh Hamal, Ghanendra Basnet, Rajendra Pandey, and General Secretary Ghanshyam Bhusal. Following the conclusion of the tenth national convention in July, appointments for various department heads and deputies, district and provincial in-charges, commission heads and deputies, and mass organization in-charges are still pending.

There is widespread dissatisfaction within the Unified Socialist party regarding the selection of office bearers, Politburo, and central members post-convention, as leadership is perceived to have prioritized relatives and factions. Criticism has arisen within the party due to the inability to divide responsibilities in a timely manner because of this discontent.

According to some leaders, if the work division is not conducted fairly, some may consider leaving the party. “Let’s see how the work division happens. If the fate of central members and the Politburo is repeated, some comrades feel we need to consider alternatives,” one leader stated.
