RSP protests in support of Rabi Lamichhane in Pokhara

Pokhara, September 23 — The Rashtriya Swotantra Party held a protest in support of president Rabi Lamichhane in Pokhara. On Monday, they demonstrated to advocate for justice for cooperative victims.

Leaders and supporters of the party gathered in front of the District Administration Office, demanding the government provide justice for those affected by cooperatives. The gathering was prompted by rumors of Lamichhane's arrest.

The protesters chanted slogans such as “Give justice to cooperative victims,” “Down with the fascist government,” and “Stop political vendetta.” Speakers at the event accused the government of conspiring to frame Lamichhane and vowed to resist this.

“We will continue our campaign until cooperative victims receive justice. We are starting today from Pokhara, and soon the blue revolution will spread district by district,” said Durga Ranjit, a leader of the party. “Rabi Lamichhane is being targeted, but we will oppose this. We will dedicate ourselves to serving the people.”

Raju Rai, deputy coordinator of the party in Kaski, warned of a strong protest if attempts to frame Lamichhane continue. “What is the government trying to achieve? They are trying to deflect attention from their own actions by slandering the new forces and maintaining their grip on power,” he stated. “If the government is deliberately targeting our president, we will not sit idly by.”

They also demanded action against Nepali Congress vice-president Dhanraj Gurung. Govinda Gautam, chairman of the party in Pokhara 18, asserted that the current government does not have the authority to take action against Lamichhane. “The government has no right to punish Rabi. If a case is to be filed, it should be against GB Rai. Let the government confront Giri and Rabi directly. The matter will be resolved there.”

RSP provincial president Rajan Gautam noted that they were protesting against the government’s conspiracy. “Right now, our president is facing a conspiracy. We will continue to hold programs in opposition to this. Our fight is against the conspiracy,” he said. “Seeing the popularity of the Rashtriya Swotantra Party and Rabi, those who are intimidated are trying to eliminate us. Be aware, millions of Rabi Lamichhanes have already been born. You cannot end the campaign of the party by targeting one person.”
