RSP summons leaders from China visit

Kathmandu, September 22 — The Rashtriya Swotantra Party (RSP) has called back its leaders who are currently in China. Following the arrest of former DIG Chhabilal Joshi, discussions among RSP leaders gathered at the central party office led to the decision to call back their leaders from the China visit.

RSP leader Birajbhakta Shrestha confirmed that the leaders who are in China have been summoned back.

After the arrest of former DIG Chhabilal Joshi, RSP president Rabi Lamichhane summoned his party workers to the party office. Party workers have gathered in Banasthali, Ward No. 16 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. The police have stated that Lamichhane will only be arrested after taking Joshi’s statement.

The parliamentary investigation committee has concluded that Lamichhane was involved in the spending and management of funds irregularly transferred from the savings of depositors at the cooperative to the account of Gorkha Media Network. Based on the committee's recommendations, supplementary charges are being prepared against Gorkha Media directors Kumar Ramtel, Chhabilal Joshi, and managing director Lamichhane.

A case against Gitendra Babu Rai, chairman of Gorkha Media, is currently under consideration in Kaski District Court.
