JSP-N in talks to resolve issues following internal discontent
Kathmandu, September 20 — The Janata Samajwadi Party-Nepal (JSP-N) is currently in discussions to address the dissatisfaction within the party. Following the general convdention held in June, there has been widespread discontent regarding the newly formed central committee, including officials and the executive team.
The situation has escalated to the point where complaints have been filed with the Election Commission. There have also been boycotts of programs attended by party chairman Upendra Yadav. Additionally, some campaigns organized by the party have faced boycotts in various locations, and a number of members have threatened to leave the party.
The most concerning issue is that dissatisfied leaders have reached out to the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), with some already having left the party. The JSP is actively engaging with these dissatisfied leaders. Currently, the JSP is in the process of forming and restructuring various organizations within the party. Top leaders of JSP-N have expressed concern over whether these dissatisfied leaders will join their ranks.
Discussions on all these matters are taking place within the executive committee of JSP-N. A leader who participated in the ongoing three-day meeting reported that most attendees believe dialogue with the dissatisfied leaders is necessary.
Party chairman Upendra Yadav is also in favor of engaging with the dissatisfied leaders. Discussions are underway regarding whether to assign this responsibility to Yadav or to form a task force for this purpose.
