Govt to implement a unified academic calendar for all varsities

Kathmandu, September 5 — The government plans to standardize the academic calendar across all universities in the country. The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology will implement a unified academic calendar for all 13 universities. To facilitate this, a meeting with the vice-chancellors and officials from each university is scheduled for the third week of September.

Education Minister Bidhya Bhattarai announced that the new policy will align the academic schedules of all universities. She noted that current discrepancies in lecture times, exam schedules, and result announcements have caused confusion among students. By adopting a national academic calendar, the government aims to address these issues.

Minister Bhattarai also addressed concerns about negative perceptions surrounding universities, highlighting issues such as student behavior and academic performance. She assured that both the Ministry and herself are committed to resolving these problems to prevent students from seeking education abroad.
