Dengue deaths reach four
Kathmandu, September 3 — The number of deaths from dengue fever has risen to four, with 6,831 reported cases.
According to the latest data from the Epidemiology and Communicable Disease Control Division (EDCD), the dengue outbreak, which began in the first week of February, has led to these fatalities.
Among the seven provinces, Gandaki Province has the highest number of dengue cases, with 3,229 infections, representing 47.3% of the total cases. Bagmati Province has 1,723 cases, Koshi Province has 815, and Madhesh Province has 106.
Additionally, Lumbini Province has 474 cases, Karnali Province has 105, and Sudurpaschim Province has 379.
The EDCD has identified the ten districts with the highest number of dengue cases.
Tanahun leads with 1,149 infections, followed by Kaski with 764, Parbat with 657, and Kathmandu with 552. Other affected districts include Chitwan with 533 cases, Gorkha with 262, Jhapa with 168, Makwanpur with 125, Lalitpur with 119, and Syangja with 115.
Doctors recommend taking precautions to avoid mosquito bites as a preventive measure against dengue.
