Mailung Waterfall: A favorite summer escape near Kathmandu (photos)

Kathmandu, August 31—The Mailung Waterfall in Uttargaya Rural Municipality, Rasuwa District, has become a top destination for domestic tourists seeking relief from the summer heat.

The waterfall, commonly known as Bhange Waterfall, has gained popularity on social media as Mailung Waterfall. This newfound fame has drawn numerous visitors who come to enjoy the site, create TikTok videos, and experience its natural beauty.

Located about 70 kilometers from Kathmandu, the Mailung Waterfall is accessible by motorcycle and bus. Positioned above the Trishuli river, it offers a scenic escape from the city.

Local residents report that as temperatures rise, the waterfall becomes increasingly crowded with people looking to cool off. Saturdays see particularly large crowds compared to other days.
