Six bodies recovered after landslide in Ramechhap
Ramechhap, August 25 —The bodies of six people buried in a landslide last night in Doramba Shailung Rural Municipality-3 have been recovered.
Police Inspector Kaushal Neupane of the District Police Office Ramechhap informed that one person is injured and some individuals are still missing.
Eleven-year-old Anjana Shrestha was injured in the landslide and has lost movement in the lower part of her body.
According to Kamala Thapa Magar, the vice chairman of the rural municipality, the landslide occurred late last night.
Only two of the deceased have been identified so far : 30-year-old Chandika Shrestha and her 18-month-old baby, Anush Shrestha.
Following the incident, local residents, Nepal Police, and Nepal Army personnel have been involved in rescue and search operations, stated Deputy Superintendent of Police Pradeep Kumar Singh from the District Police Office, Ramechhap.
The landslide also destroyed the concrete bridge at Andheri Khol, which connects Ward No. 2 and 3.
