Nepal Airlines revenue doubles in three years, reports 144% increase

Kathmandu, August 16: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has clarified that three of its aircraft are currently operating on international routes. Additionally, one A330 aircraft and nine ALY aircraft are scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu after maintenance in Italy by August end.

The Corporation addressed recent misinformation with a nine-point statement on Friday. It detailed that one Twin-Otter aircraft is in regular service while the engine of another is under repair and will be operational by Dashain.

Nepal Airlines Corporation's revenue has more than doubled over the past three years. According to the Auditor General’s report, the corporation's total income rose from NPR 9.1 billion in fiscal year 2077/78 to NPR 16.46 billion in 2078/79. The preliminary income for FY 2079/80 has reached NPR 22.24 billion, reflecting a 144% increase over the last three years.

The corporation also noted that attempts to sell Chinese planes through bidding were unsuccessful on two occasions. Additionally, it mentioned that loan obligations for two narrowbody and two widebody aircraft purchased for international flights, secured from the Employees Provident Fund and Citizen Investment Fund, are being managed under the current leadership.
