Pokhara and Bhairahawa International Airports set for full operations: PM
Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has announced that the government is making significant efforts to fully operationalize Pokhara and Bhairahawa International Airports.
He informed that Thai AirAsia has been granted permission to operate flights from Bhairahawa to Thailand four days a week starting this Friday. This development is expected to reduce air traffic congestion at Tribhuvan International Airport.
The Prime Minister took to the social networking site Facebook to convey the message. "We are working to fully utilize Pokhara and Bhairahawa International Airports for international flights. Yesterday, we established a working group to prepare an operational plan for these airports, which will be presented at the upcoming Council of Ministers meeting. Operating these two airports will help ease the pressure on Tribhuvan International Airport," he wrote.
