Flood fury hits Kathmandu, settlements inundated (Photos)
Kathmandu. Due to the continuous rain last night, the rivers in the Kathmandu valley have overflowed. Settlements along the Bagmati River are flooded, with the riverside areas of Tripureshwar, Kalimati, and Teku completely submerged.
According to the Department of Water and Meteorology, the water levels in the Bagmati River and its tributaries, including the Hanumante, Manohara, Dhovikhola, Bishnumati, Nakhkhu, and Balkhukhola rivers, are at dangerous levels.
The department has advised against traveling on the roads, as the floodwaters may reach the roadside and potentially inundate nearby settlements. People are urged to stay in safe locations until 10 a.m. due to the flooding.
