Man arrested for killing wife

Butwal: A Nepali Army soldier has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife in Dang. Salikram Budhathoki, a 36-year-old Nepal Army personnel, was apprehended this morning on charges of murdering his wife at their residence in Dumrigaon, Tulsipur sub-metropolitan city, Dang district.

Ram Bahadur KC, Superintendent of Police at District Police Office Dang, reported that Budhathoki, who had been evading authorities since morning, was apprehended at Tulsipur Bahini Chowk.

According to authorities, Budhathoki, originally from Kapurkot, Salyan, serves as an officer in Nepal Army's Jwaldal Battalion in Bara district. Allegedly, he killed his wife, Tika Budhathoki, upon discovering her in a compromising situation with another man. Budhathoki, who had recently returned from a peacekeeping mission, was on leave at the time of the incident. Tika succumbed to her injuries sustained from a khukuri attack during treatment at Rapti Provincial Hospital.

Additionally, Salikram also attacked Tika's alleged paramour, Nepali Army personnel Aryan Thapa, causing severe injuries to his neck and head. Salikram is currently under the custody of Area Police Office, Tulsipur, as investigations into the incident continue.
