UML Chair Oli urges voters to support Suhang in by-election

ILAM: CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has made a fervent appeal to the electorate of Ilam constituency no. 2, urging them to cast their votes in favor of the party's candidate, Suhang Nembang, in the upcoming by-election scheduled for April 27.

Speaking at an election assembly held in Mangalbare, Deumai Municipality of Ilam constituency no. 2, Chairperson Oli emphasized the significance of electing Suhang Nembang, the son of the late leader Subashchandra Nembang, to fulfill his father's aspirations.

Oli underscored the importance of continuing the legacy of the late Nembang, who previously represented the constituency in the House of Representatives.

Highlighting the importance of Suhang's victory, Oli stressed that it was essential for the development and prosperity of the constituency.

He reiterated his party's commitment to initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the people, including provisions for elderly and social security allowances, as well as various developmental projects such as road construction and healthcare infrastructure.

While lamenting the disruption of ongoing projects following the party's withdrawal from the government, Oli assured that these endeavors would be resumed after the next parliamentary election.

UML Vice-Chairperson Ram Bahadur Thapa 'Badal' expressed concerns about the potential negative impact of single ethnic identity-based federalism on ethnic harmony in the country.

Meanwhile, CPN (Maoist Centre) Koshi Province Chairperson Harka Nembang emphasized the importance of electing Suhang as a common candidate to unite all communist forces.

In his address, candidate Suhang Nembang vowed to prioritize the development of his constituency and pledged to uphold the dignity of its citizens.

With a total of 19 candidates from 12 political parties, including seven independent contenders, vying for the seat in Ilam constituency no. 2, the upcoming by-election holds significant implications for the region's political landscape.
