RPP leader succumbs to injuries after Kathmandu protest
KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is mourning the loss of one of its leaders following a protest held on April 9.
Thakur Prasad Dangi, Chairman of the Madhuban Municipality Working Committee in Bardiya, passed away early Monday morning while undergoing treatment.
According to party spokesperson Mohan Shrestha, Dangi succumbed to injuries sustained during the protest, which included being hit by tear gas fired by the police.
"After the incident, Dangi faced severe head injuries, respiratory complications, and was battling high blood pressure," explained Shrestha.
The protest, organized by the party, aimed at demanding the reinstatement of constitutional monarchy and the repeal of secularism.
