CPN (Maoist Center) declares participation in Illam and Bhajang by-elections

KATHMANDU: In a strategic move, the CPN (Maoist Center) has announced its participation in the upcoming by-elections slated for April 27 in Illam and Bhajang.

Following a meeting of office bearers, the party unanimously decided to field candidates in both the Illam-2 and Bhajang-1 constituencies.

While the final selection of candidates is pending, a few names have been proposed, including Direndra Sharma Timalsina, Urmila Tamang, Om Bahadur Gurung, and Kumar Baraili, under the guidance of Harka Bahadur Nembang, Chairman of the party for Koshi Province.

As the CPN-UML has already nominated Suhang Nembang, son of the late party leader Subhash Nembang, for the election, and the Nepali Congress gears up to put forward Dambar Bahadur Khadka as its candidate, anticipation rises for the Rastriya Swatantra Party and CPN (Unified Socialist) to unveil their respective candidates.

With political maneuvering underway, Illam and Bhajang brace for a spirited electoral battle, setting the stage for a significant contest in both constituencies.
