Maha Shivaratri celebrations at Pashupatinath Temple (Photos)

KATHMANDU: The Pashupatinath Temple witnessed a vibrant scene as thousands of devotees, hailing from various parts of Nepal and beyond, gathered in the early hours of Friday to commemorate the Maha Shivaratri festival.

According to Rewanirman Adhikari, spokesperson for the Pashupatinath Area Development Trust (PADT), the temple has already welcomed over 100,000 visitors as of Friday morning.

PADT estimates anticipate a total of 2 million visitors throughout the festival.
