Mahashivaratri celebrations reverberate across Nepal: Pashupatinath Temple welcomes devotees and Sadhus amid special arrangements

KATHMANDU: Mahashivaratri, a significant Hindu festival, is being celebrated across Nepal today with fervor and devotion.

Hindu devotees are flocking to Shiva temples to offer special prayers and homage to Lord Shiva.

mong the prominent sites of worship is the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu, where devotees have been gathering since the early hours of the morning. In anticipation of the influx of worshippers, all four entrances of the temple have been opened since 3 am to accommodate the devotees on this auspicious occasion.

The atmosphere is filled with spirituality as people come together to observe and celebrate Mahashivaratri.

Sadhus from various parts of Nepal and India have converged upon the Pashupatinath Temple, adding to the spiritual atmosphere of Mahashivaratri.

The Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) is extending support to these sadhus by providing them with financial assistance and alms.

In addition to Pashupatinath, devotees are also visiting various "Shivalayas" on this auspicious day, paying their respects to Lord Shiva. Mahashivaratri coincides with Krishna Chaturdashi, adding to the significance of the celebrations.

Across Nepal, special Shiva poojas are being conducted at revered sites such as Haleshi and Devghat, where devotees gather to offer their prayers and homage to Lord Shiva.

The PADT has made special arrangements to facilitate the visit of devotees to the Pashupatinath Temple, ensuring that everyone can participate in the festivities and seek the blessings of Lord Shiva.
