Nepal Police unveils comprehensive security measures for Maha Shivaratri celebration

3,072 security personnel to be mobilized in three shifts, monitoring by drones

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police has revealed its meticulous security arrangements for the upcoming Maha Shivaratri celebrations, ensuring the safety and tranquility of the festival at Pashupatinath Temple premises, slated for Friday, attracting both domestic and international devotees.

Dinesh Raj Mainali, spokesperson for Kathmandu Valley Police Office, elucidated that the security blueprint will be in effect until March 9, encompassing various measures to uphold order and harmony during the festivities.

Surveillance efforts will be bolstered by the utilization of drones, CCTV cameras, and mobile patrolling, among other sophisticated techniques, to monitor the event closely and preempt any potential security breaches.

Moreover, the police will deploy an ambulance equipped with medical personnel on standby to address any emergent situations that may arise within the vicinity.

A substantial deployment of 3,072 security personnel will be strategically stationed in the Pashupatinath Temple area, operating in three shifts, to ensure a seamless and secure environment for devotees and visitors alike.
