PM Prachanda alters political equation, risking all for govt effectiveness

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has boldly asserted his commitment to reshaping the political landscape, even at the expense of taking risks, to enhance the efficacy of the government's operations.

In a session of the House of Representatives today, the PM unequivocally expressed his stance on recent political shifts, responding to queries from lawmakers. He underscored his determination to deliver tangible progress for the nation, even if it meant challenging existing power dynamics.

"I have consistently emphasized my dissatisfaction with the pace of governmental work. Faced with two options – maintaining my position through mediocrity or pursuing nation-building with resolve, despite the risks – I have chosen the latter," the PM affirmed.

Acknowledging the potential uncertainty surrounding his decisions, he emphasized that such risks were undertaken in the best interests of the country and its citizens. The PM asserted that the outcomes of government initiatives in the near future would vindicate his approach.

"While our government has achieved commendable results across various sectors, my aim has always been to foster agility and momentum. I refuse to be content with merely average outcomes," he declared, highlighting his unwavering dedication to transformative governance.

Reflecting on his interactions within the former ruling coalition, the PM expressed disappointment, stating, "My colleagues, while supportive on a personal level, have failed to fully endorse my vision for substantive change, good governance, and prosperity."
